The Bronx bornĀ Freddie RoachĀ was first introduced to Blue Note listeners on Ike Quebecās albumsĀ Heavy SoulĀ andĀ It Might As Well Be SpringĀ and began his own run of leader dates with his excellent 1962 debutĀ Down To Earth.
